How to Reset a Brother TN-540 Toner Cartridge

The following instructions are for resetting a brother printer that uses TN-540 cartridges

Step 1. Open the front cover of the machine where the toner cartridges are inserted. Keep this cover open until otherwise instructed.

Step 2. Press and hold the Cancel button on the machine’s display.

Step 3. Press the Reprint button while still pressing the Cancel button

Step 4. The reset menu should be displayed. Press the Ok button to reset the toner.

Step 5. The display menu should say “Accepted.” Close the front cover and continue printing.
